Faculty and staff who wish to resign should submit a letter of resignation to their immediate supervisor. The supervisor, in turn, will forward a copy of the letter of resignation, along with a letter of acceptance or other recommendation, to his/her immediate supervisor. This pattern of communication from supervisor to supervisor will continue until the matter reaches the Office of the President. After the President reaches a decision, the chain of communication will reverse. The President will notify in writing all persons involved of his acceptance of the resignation or alternate decision.
