COMPENSATORY TIME
In limited situations, in lieu of overtime pay, GCSU employees can earn compensatory time off, or “comp time.” That is, they can earn comp time at the rate of one and one-half hours of time off per hour of “overtime.” Before supervisors can substitute comp time for overtime pay, there must be a written agreement between the employee and the supervisor before the overtime work is performed. Compensatory time must be taken within 20 weeks of accrual. Exempt employees are not eligible for overtime compensation.
