ASSESSING UNIT AND PROGRAM EFFECTIVENESS
The Assessment Planning Record (APR) shows performance-based assessment of departmental and program goals that leads to planning and efforts to make continuous improvement. APR reports for years 2003 through 2006 are archived on the Index to Assessment Reports page from the Academic Assessment intranet web site: http://info.gcsu.edu/intranet/Academicassessment/assessmentroadmap1.html
There is a link to this site on the MyCats Favorite Links page from the Faculty/Staff menu.
Academic assessment data for the current year are entered into the electronic APR interface (http://apr.gcsu.edu) or in MS Word format. The electronic system can also be also accessed from the Academic Assessment intranet site. Archived data from previous years can be found here:

The APR system ensures institutional integrity and continuous improvement by means of outcomes-driven practice and research-based planning, as well as by relating academic program goals to the larger mission goals of colleges and ultimately to the University strategic goals. The APR system carries this information from unit and program reports through administrative responses.
In this way, the APR system also enables responsible accountability to external accrediting agencies. Annually the data provide information for institutional assessment. Academic departments also use the data when compiling their Comprehensive Program Review Reports.
