ADVISERS FOR UNDECIDED STUDENTS

Incoming undecided freshmen participate in a unique teaching/advising program at GCSU.  Incoming first year students who do not declare a major are clustered in first year seminars and one or two core courses with a limited enrollment of 25.  The  instructor of the freshmen seminar course (GCSU 0001) will serve as the faculty advisor for the undecided students through the completion of their first 30 semester hours or until they officially declare a major.  Any student who does not declare a major by the completion of 30 semester hours should be referred to the Counseling and/or Career Center for a more personalized comprehensive approach to an appropriate career choice.  The Dean's office in the College of Arts & Sciences and The Center for Student Success serve as contact points for the development of the cluster/advising concept for undecided students.

Incoming transfer students who do not declare a major at the time of admission are assigned an advisor by the Dean's office in the College of Arts & Sciences.
