Georgia College Outdoor Education Center Mission

The Georgia College Outdoor Education Center provides excellent technical training, outdoor recreation education, leadership training, and group development experiences. We serve outdoor education professionals, GCSU faculty, staff, and students, and members of the surrounding community. We provide programs and services led by competent personnel in compliance with The Association for Experiential Education accreditation standards. The Georgia College Outdoor Education Center seeks to enhance the mission of the state's public liberal arts university through safe*, environmentally sound, and effective programs and services.

*Group development, challenge course, and Tango Tower activities by their nature involve inherent risk.  Every effort if made to provide programs that respect emotional, social intellectual, and physical safety.  However, it is impossible to anticipate all factors that impact safety.  Participants acknowledge their understanding of and agreement to participate in potentially unsafe programs by signing appropriate risk management forms.
