The International club meets every Wednesday night at 8:30 p.m.
The venues for this semester's [Spring 2009] meetings are Arts & Sciences Room 2-72 for the Meetings and Students Activity Center for the Coffee Nights.
The first meeting is on Wednesday August 19th.
Our Activities
The International Day and The International Dinner are the two main activities undertaken by the International club. Other activities include trips to local areas of interest, bowling nights and swimming at the lake.
In addition, Club members are also active in giving presentations on their countries in university classes, local schools and at local organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club.
Club members also take part in Community Service projects around the Milledgeville area.
The International Day (October 22, 2009)
A celebration on front campus where hundreds of local school children and university faculty, staff and students have the opportunity to learn more about the world and have fun!
The International Day normally falls in the fall semester.
The International Day is Part of a weeklong of events known collectively as the International Week, which each year gives us at Georgia College a week-long focus on the world, its cultures and issues.
For the International Day Celebrations, Club members:
Set up country displays providing information about their countries and cultures.
Organize international games and activities for both college students and school children.
Host the International Day ceremony and entertainment.
The International Dinner (March 13, 2010)
A gala event in Milledgeville that brings together around 300 people from GCSU and the local community to have a taste of the world.
The International dinner normally takes place during the spring semester.
For the International Dinner, Club Members:
Prepare and serve an array of dishes from their home countries.
Entertain guests with native dances and music.
Hold a fashion show of costumes from their homelands.
