Students around the country are proposing and approving 'green fees' to help their institutions become more environmentally sustainable. The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education reports renewable energy fees ranging from $1 to $20 per semester. The funds are used primarily to purchase or generate alternative energy and energy efficiency devices, but could also be applied for recycling, conservation, and sustainability programming.
The GCSU Environmental Science Club and the GCSU Green Initiative have proposed a $5/term green fee for Georgia College. Please see the proposal below, and if you support it, download and circulate the petition. You may also want to support the Facebook group "GCSU Students for a Green Fee!!!"
