Environmental Cleanups

Fishing Creek

The GCSU Environmental Science Club has adopted Fishing Creek at the Elbert Street Bridge as a Georgia Adopt-A-Stream site, and we annually participate in Rivers Alive!, the statewide cleanup of waterways.  We have been working since 2004 to remove trash from the creek.  To date we have pulled out over fifteen truckloads of assorted waste.  Below are some of the photos from our recent expeditions.

Rivers Alive Cleanup!!

In the Fall, our club will be participating in Rivers Alive again.  In the Spring as well, we enjoy pulling trash out of Fishing Creek and off the banks of the Oconee River, getting dirty, and having fun! Please contact one of our officers for more information!
