Field trips will take participants to Savannah, site of the O'Connor childhood home; to Eatonton for insights into J. C. Harris and Alice Walker, authors with interesting connections to O'Connor; to Columbus for insights into Carson McCullers, another author with connections to O'Connor; and to Macon and Atlanta, home to a wealth of cultural attractions relating to the Georgia that O'Connor wrote about. Participants may attend summer music events on the GCSU campus, and the Flannery O'Connor Review will sponsor evening readings by faculty from the MFA Program in Creative Writing at GCSU.
