The following full-text databases are available through GALILEO. These
databases are funded by the Governor and the General Assembly of Georgia
for the citizens of Georgia since 1995.
PUBLISHERS DATABASES
Georgia College & State University has access to some titles in the following
databases. Access to most is restricted to use on campus.

AMERICAN PERIODICAL SERIES
The American
Periodical Series is a full-text collection of over 1,100 periodicals
that first began publishing between 1740 and 1900, including special interest
and general magazines, literary and professional journals, children's
and women's magazines, and many other historically-significant periodicals.
BioOne
BioOne
is the product of collaboration between scientific societies, libraries,
academe and the private sector and aggregates more than 40 full-text research
journals focused on the biological, ecological and environmental sciences.
GCSU faculty and students may access Project Muse from off-campus by user
name and password. A link to the user name/password will display in the
GALILEO menu.
PROJECT MUSE
Project Muse covers the
fields of literature and criticism, history, the visual and performing
arts, cultural studies, education, political science, gender studies,
and many others. Project MUSE is setting the standard for scholarly electronic
journals in the humanities and social sciences. GCSU faculty and students
may access Project Muse from off-campus via the PAWS secure server. Go
to PAWS and click on "Login to Secure
Area."
JSTOR DATABASES
The JSTOR Arts and Sciences I Collection
contains backfiles of journals in the subject areas of African American
Studies, Anthropology, Asian Studies, Ecology, Economics, Education, Finance,
History, Language & Literature, Mathematics, Philosophy, Political Science,
Population Studies, Sociology, and Statistics. The JSTOR
Arts and Sciences II Collection Collection contains back volumes of
journals in the subject areas of African Studies, Archeology, Asian Studies,
Economics, Geography, History, Latin American Studies, Middle East Studies,
Philosophy, Political Science, Population Studies, Slavic Studies, Sociology,
and Statistics. GCSU faculty and students may access JSTOR from off-campus
via the PAWS secure server. Go to PAWS

FREE DATABASES
The electronic journals in the following databases are freely available to all. Highwire Press is one of the two largest archives of free full-text science journals. Some journals in this database offer only free back issues dating from a month or two ago to a year or two ago. Several journals have websites that are available completely free, including the most recent issue.
Making of America (MOA) is a digital library of primary sources in American
social history from the antebellum period through reconstruction. The
collection is particularly strong in the subject areas of education, psychology,
American history, sociology, religion, and science and technology. The
journal collection currently contains approximately 50,000 journal articles
with 19th century imprints.
GEORGIA COLLEGE & STATE UNIVERSITY LIBRARY PERIODICALS
The titles in the GCSU Library are available in print and microformat.
Search the library catalog for holdings. Visit the library today to browse
the collection! Print titles AACN Clinical Issues through Living
are shelved on the SECOND floor. Print periodicals MCN through
Zygon are shelved on the FIRST floor. All micofilm periodicals
are located in the Copy Room on the SECOND floor. Current magazines, newspapers
and selected journals are on Display on the SECOND floor.
