Historical Note

The earliest information located about the Community Concert Association is a program from 1948. The Community Concert Association consisted of the faculty members and staff of Georgia College & State University as well as several local citizens from Milledgeville and the surrounding areas of Baldwin County. The Community Concert Association sought to bring talented yet small musical acts and entertainment to the Baldwin County area. No more information is available about the Community Concert Association after the 1984-85 season. No historical information was found.

It is unknown when the collection was donated to the library. The collection is arranged chronologically.

Scope and Content

This collection contains a variety of information about the Community Concert Association including various programs, PR information, photos, correspondence, worker record sheets, and membership lists of the organization over the years. The collection dates from about 1944 to 1985. However, the only years that contain explicit detail about the organization are between the years of 1976 and 1985. There is not a great deal of historical information about how the Community Concert Association began. The collection ends at 1985.
