Food, Drink, & Tobacco Policy

This policy is designed to ensure a clean study and work environment for Library &
Instructional Technology Center users and staff, to aid in the preservation and care of collections and computer equipment, and to maintain a pest-free environment.
- Use of any tobacco product is prohibited in the Library & Instructional Technology Center.
- Consumption of food within the public areas of the Library & Instructional Technology Center is permitted only in the Atrium, at Books and Brew, inside the Graduate Lounge, and the six Study Rooms located on the Ground Floor. Bottles of water and beverages in Library approved containers* are permitted in the Library on the second and third floor. Events providing refreshments may be held on the Atrium or in the Books and Brew area.
- Patrons in violation of this policy will be required to dispose of their food/drink or to leave the Library.
- The Library staff/faculty inform patrons of this policy and participate in its enforcement.
*Library approved containers are travel mugs with spill-proof lids. No other kinds of cups will be allowed (styrofoam, paper, cans, soda bottles, etc).
Books and Brew has approved mugs for purchase.
