Milledgeville, Georgia Intendants and Mayors

Milledgeville was named capital of Georgia in 1807. The city was created as a township and governed by Commissioners, who were appointed by the Legislature. In 1814 the Commissioners were succeeded by Intendants and the chairman acted as Mayor.
