Subject Headings

Using the correct subject headings for your topic will help you get more relevant results when searching the Library Catalog. Examples of Subject Headings for Diversity are:
Multiculturalism
Pluralism
Ethnicity
Diversity in the Workplace
Race
Minorities

You can also search by individual ethnic or minority groups. Keep in mind that many topics in the field of diversity are more effectively searched using keywords.

Databases
Most databases index articles from journals, newspapers, and magazines.  Some databases offer full text articles, while others contain only citations.  Some databases are subject specific, while others are more general in coverage.


Academic Search Complete is a scholarly, multi-disciplinary full-text database, covering areas of academic study such as: archaeology, ethnic and multicultural studies, psychology, religion and theology, women's studies, and other fields.

African American Biographical Database contains biographies of thousands of African Americans, including activists, business people, former slaves, performing artists, educators, lawyers, physicians, writers, church leaders, homemakers, religious workers, government workers, athletes, farmers, scientists, factory workers, etc.

ClasePeriodica is an index of Latin American journals in the sciences and humanities.

The GALILEO Social Sciences Page contains a complete list of databases in the social sciences available through GALILEO.

Native American Documents contains documents and images relating to the Native American population of the Southeast.

Oxford African-American Studies Center Information on African-American history, biography, and literature.

World History collection contains articles on anthropology, art, culture, economics, government, heritage, military, politics, regional issues, and more.
