Welcome to the "Access!" Information Literacy Tutorial. The purpose of this tutorial is to teach you the skills for finding, evaluating and using information. Although the tutorial will focus on the specific resources available through the GCSU Library, you will find that what you learn here about the research process will enable you to be effective lifelong learners.

During this tutorial, you will learn how to access:

• More than 175,000 books housed in this library
• More than 1,100 hard-copy periodical titles from the 18th century to the present
• Tens of thousands of full text electronic books
• Literally millions of full-text articles available via GALILEO and the databases GCSU subscribes to
• Millions of books owned by other Georgia libraries that you can check out online
• Professional assistance from the librarians and staff of the GCSU Library whenever the library is open
• Millions of books and periodical titles available from libraries throughout the U.S.A. & Canada available through Interlibrary Loan

You will also learn how to evaluate information once you have located it. This will prove to be a valuable skill for you during your college career since you will often be asked to use only scholarly resources for your assignments.

The tutorial features eight modules. Use the "previous" and "next" links on each page to move through the tutorial. At the end of last module, you will receive directions for taking a short quiz. The quiz is in .pdf format and should be printed and returned to your instructor.
