Joffrey South Workshop Audition Process
All students accepted in the Intermediate and Advanced Workshops will be auditioned for placement. Acceptance into the Workshops is based on the student’s technical ability and talent. Dancers may audition at any of the Joffrey Ballet School audition sites listed. Be sure to indicate on your application form that you are auditioning for the Joffrey South in Milledgeville, GA. Eleven-year-olds may audition at any of the sites listed, even if the minimum age is listed as twelve. The audition fee of $30 should be paid in cash at the audition site.
A 5x7 full-body photograph of the dancer posed in first arabesque is required. Ladies must wear a black leotard, pink tights, and bring pointe shoes. Gentlemen must wear black tights, white t-shirt, white socks, and shoes. Students who are unable to attend the audition may apply by submitting a video tape which should begin with a short technical demonstration at the barre and in the center. This section should be less than five minutes in length. A solo of a classical variation (on pointe for women), one to two minutes in length, should also be included. The video, a copy of the application form (found in this brochure or available on-line at joffreysouth.gcsu.edu), and the $30 video audition fee should be sent to Valerie Madonia, P.O. Box 1303, Telluride, CO 81435.
A letter will be sent to you informing you whether or not you are accepted. You should expect to receive this letter within two weeks of your audition, and in many cases, sooner. It is important that you return the acceptance agreement with your $250 deposit immediately to reserve your spot in the Workshop, as spaces will be limited. Once your intent to participate and your deposit are received, you will be sent a packet containing all the information you will need to participate in the Joffrey South Workshop.

Joffrey Light
Auditions are not required for acceptance into Joffrey Light. Students will be taken on a first-applied, first-accepted basis. To attend Joffrey Light, please complete an application form (pdf) along with the two waiver forms found on our website and mail them, along with your check payable to GCSU for $285, to:
